SZA announces major career change plans despite successful music career as she shares ʙικιɴι snaps

SZA revealed the surprising way she intends on fulfilling her recording contract and her plans for a major career change.

The 35-year-old singer, who has become one of the most successful artists of her generation over the past decade, told fans on Saturday that she is looking at dipping her toe into a new genre of music.

‘To fulfill my last 2 album requirements I think I just wanna make peaceful children’s music n get outta here,’ the four-time Grammy winner wrote on X. ‘Then go be a farmer n donate the produce to underserved communities.’

Back in March 2024, the Kill Bill hitmaker appeared on Sesame Street, which she described as a ‘dream’ reminding others that ‘anything is possible.

A day later, she took to Instagram to share a series of scenic sH๏τs of her in nature, on a boat, posing for a mirror selfie in a blue and orange ʙικιɴι and hugging trees.

Over her career, the pop star (born Solána Rowe) has won four Grammy Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, six BET Awards and a Soul Train Music Award.

In 2024, SZA was the musician with the most nominations.

A year prior, she Rolling Stone ranked her number 180 on its list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time, and in, 2022, she was named one of the rising stars on the TIME 100 Next List in 2022.

Her latest remarks come just one month after she released the highly-anticipated deluxe edition of her Grammy-winning 2022 album SOS.

In November, she admitted to feeling like she was ‘drowning on stage’ when she headlined Glastonbury 2024.

While serving as the closing night headliner at the festival, her performance was marred by technical issues.

The singer’s audio to appear muffled and distorted, leading people to label her set as ‘disastrous.’

In a recent interview with British Vogue, the star said: ‘I just felt like nothing I could do would be enough for Glastonbury, no matter what I did. It scared me. I was like, well, I wish I wasn’t doing it, but I couldn’t walk away from it…’

She said she thought at the time: ‘I’m scared. I feel like I’m drowning on stage and I feel like I’m failing.’
